Contexto uses an AI model that has been trained on large amounts of text. When you submit a word, the game compares it to the secret word in terms of how and where words are used—their context—rather than spelling or letter position. That is why it feels different from Wordle: you are not matching letters; you are narrowing down by meaning and usage. The rank you see (e.g. 600, 100, 5) is the position of your guess in a list ordered by similarity to the hidden word. Rank 1 is always the answer. Your job is to use vocabulary and logic to move from high ranks toward 1.
There is one puzzle per day, and it resets at midnight. When you solve it, you can share your result: the game number, how many guesses you took, and a row of coloured squares that summarise your guess quality. Many players find that starting with broad categories (e.g. common objects, abstract ideas) and then refining with contextually related words works well. You can also turn on tips in Settings—Easy, Medium, or Hard—which give you an extra hint based on your best guess so far.
